Is MEDERMA® safe to use while pregnant or breastfeeding?
MEDERMA® does not contain any ingredients which have been shown to be dangerous to a fetus. However, if you would like to use MEDERMA® during pregnancy or breastfeeding, you should contact your healthcare provider.

What is Cepalin®?
Cepalin® is the proprietary botanical extract used in MEDERMA®. It comes from onions, which have historically been used to soothe skin irritation and inflammation. Cepalin® works to soften hardened scar tissue and improve the color, texture and overall appearance of scars.

Can't I just use a store brand scar product?
While store brand scar products may share some of the same ingredients as MEDERMA®, they are not the same as MEDERMA®. MEDERMA® is a patented formula, with a proprietary ingredient, Cepalin®, and it cannot be duplicated.
