Direction to use

For best results, start using our scar cream for kids as soon as the wound has closed and continue using daily for at least 8 weeks on new scars and 3-6 months on existing scars. Make sure the scab has come off naturally and any stitches have been removed. On older scars you may start using Mederma® for Kids immediately. Do not apply to broken skin.

  • Stop use and ask a doctor if condition worsens or if symptoms last more than 7 days or clear up and occur again within a few days.
  • Do not use on deep or puncture wounds, animal bites, or serious burns.

Can Mederma for KIDS be used for Atrophic Scars?

Thank you for your interest in Mederma.Mederma for Kids l can be used on atrophic scars such as acne and chicken pox scars. Mederma for Kids may help to smooth and soften the edges of the pox mark but it will not cause the indented area to fill in. By smoothing the edges, the mark may become less noticeable.

Who should use Mederma for KIDS?

Thank you for your interest in Mederma. Although anyone can use Mederma for Kids, Mederma for Kids was specifically formulated for use on anyone above age 2. It has a SCENT and a purple color that goes to clear when you rub it in. All Mederma products should be used as directed. If you have experienced reactions to skin care products before, please read the ingredients listed on the package before using. If you are unsure if Mederma is right for you, please contact your healthcare professional for guidance.

Is Mederma for KIDS Paraben free?

Mederma for Kids is not paraben free. It contains methylparaben, a preservative commonly and safely used in many skin care products. If you prefer to use a paraben free product for your scar treatment, Mederma Quick Dry Oil is paraben and fragrance free and Mederma PM Cream is paraben free. Mederma Stretch Mark Therapy is for stretch marks and is also paraben free.

Are there any animal products or by-products in Mederma for KIDS?
