In one study1, patients experienced statistically significant improvements at week 4 and week 8 in the appearance, color, texture and softness of their scar. The same study found that the non-toxic gel was very well tolerated among users.

Mederma® for Kids™ is non-toxic and non-staining.

In a safety study1 involving 51 children, no adverse events led to discontinuation of treatment. In fact, only one product-related adverse event - mild dryness - was reported throughout the 8-week study. This study showed that Mederma® for Kids™ is very well tolerated with minimal potential for irritation or allergic reaction.

Like many non-staining products, Mederma® for Kids™ could discolor delicate fabrics such as silk, leather, suede, and others. It is best to avoid use of this product around fabrics like these.

Mederma® for Kids™ should be evenly applied and gently massaged into the scar 3 times daily for 8 weeks on new scars, and at least 3 times daily for 3-6 months on existing scars. Begin using Mederma® for Kids™ as soon as the wound has healed and sutures have been removed. You may start using it immediately on older scars. Not intended for use on open wounds. Mederma® for Kids™ is available in a 20 gram tube.
